Health Visitor check-in today

3 weeks ago, Kirsty was 17lb 9oz, today she is 18lb 1oz!!! So she is gaining again. She was 70cm long!! she hasn't been measured since her 2month check. She was 52cm at birth.

I asked about is she having enough/too much milk, eating enough solids, etc. The HV said for a baby on 3 solids meals per day, the average is 1pint of milk, which is around 20oz. So she said Kirsty is about there - she drink around 20-25oz per day.

About her not eating much solids, the HV said to keep offering and if she doesn't eat then she's obviously not hungry. BUt she did say not to offer a yogurt at lunch if she doesn't eat her savoury as yogurt is in the same food group as her milk (calcium/dairy etc). As long as I know she likes what I'm offering, just let her eat or not eat - which is what I'm doing.

She said once Kirsty does start eating more, to cut back her 11am and 3pm bottles maybe by an oz or 2 so she will take more food. But not to cut it yet as her milk is what's keeping her going seeing as she's kinda off food.

Asked about her toenails on her big toes as they don't grow across the toe but moreso upwards and are breaking very easily, very short and nastily. She isn't worried just yet but showed me a way to file them to encourage them to grow across the toe instead of upwards. And they will re-evaluate in a few months.
