Reaching out!

Kirsty has started reaching out for things I'm holding, or if she sees something she wants she'll reach her arms wayyyy out trying to grab it! It's so cute!!!

RIP Michael Jackson ~ 1958-2009

The world seems to have almost come to a standstill over the death of the "King of Pop", Michael Jackson. I know people pass away from heart attacks every day, but when it happens to someone so iconic, it really hits home how fragile life is.

Michael Jackson has been a part of my musical life for as long as I can remember, certainly since early primary school. I wouldn't say I was a serious fan but I do love a lot of his music. He will be greatly missed.

RIP Michael.

Kirsty's tongue!

Kirsty has had her tongue hanging out all day... not unusual for her just now with teething, but OMG it's long, today it's been touching the bottom of her chin all day!

Pears

Today we tried Kirsty with puree pear in her babyrice - she didn't like it!!  Her little face screwed up so bad, bless her!

Health Visitor this morning - weight & advice received

We had the HV this morning, thankfully we saw the second HV and not our own one. I love our own one but I feel she doesn't offer advice, she simply listens, nods her head, "here's your baby's weight.. off on your merry way". The one I saw today is great, she's 100% do what is right for you & baby will follow suit.

She suggested because Kirsty has proven she enjoys babyrice, to do a BF at 7am, BF & babyrice at 11am then BF as normal through the day 4 hourly. Do this for a week, then do the same for the following week but with pear puree in the babyrice.

The 3rd week do pear/babyrice & BF at 7am, BF 11am, carrot puree/babyrice & BF at 2pm, then BF as usual following it.

Then 4th week do as 3rd week but we can begin to introduce other veggies.

She thinks Kirsty will extend the time between feeds and be more consistent with some foods alongside. I feel so much better about it now. I think I needed someone to give me a plan of action rather than just our usual HV's ooh ummm yess, bubye. I can cope with BFing if I know she has set feeding times, instead of this feeding whenever. My gut instinct was telling me the same as the HV said, she thinks she feeds frequently because she is bored. Like if we are out somewhere she'll happily go longer between feeds. It's only at home she cluster feeds.

Kirsty's bath tonight

She spent the entire time suckling on her big toe  It's so cute! It's the first time she's grabbed for her feet and put them to her mouth. The last few days she's been grabbing her knees/shins but she finally got her feet tonight!

And she did nowt but fart in the bath, OMG she's rotten today! Dunno what's causing her farts to stink so much!!

OMG TEETH!!!!!

Kirsty has been super grouchy the past few days, chewing on everything in sight - which in itself isn't unusual these days - but she has been frantically putting toys in her mouth rather than just *ooh toy... mouth*. This morning she decided it was time to get up and start our day 3am

She has been cranky all day, tired but not sleeping, then sleeping for very short period. So we went out for a walk this afternoon, when we came home I gave her a feed and decided to investigate the gums.... I felt the beginnings of a teeny little tooth!!! I've been checking for a few days but felt nothing until today!!!

I'm kinda scared what this will mean for nursing her though - my poor poor boobies!!
