Typically Kirsty's day is:
6/6:30am: wake up
noon-ish: nap for 1.5hrs
7/7:30pm: bedtime
Usually she may take up to 20mins to fall asleep at naptime and pretty quick at bedtime, like 10mins or less.
Lately she is in her cot for an hour or more at "naptime" before she falls asleep, and it involves a lot of her throwing her nankie (comfort blanket) and dummy out as she knows I have to go back up and give them back (she wont fall asleep without them). She threw her dummy a while ago so I went in and just said "no dummy, you threw it away" and came away and left her for 5mins without. Went back and gave it back to her and she hasn't thrown it since. However she is still awake!
This has been going on for a while, initially I cut her nap back to 1.5hrs as it used to be 2hrs and that helped for a bit. but this is just a joke now. I'm done with fighting naptime. She can't cope without a nap though. If she doesn't nap, she's a terror by 3pm. WWYD? Push it forward and shorten again or just cut it out all together and try to muckle through with horrid days until she *hopefully* learns to cope??

I think we have said bubye to....
.... bedtime bottle. YEY but
My bubby is growing up!
She hasn't had dairy since Tuesday and therefore no bottle at bedtime. She hasn't asked for it and we haven't offered. But I don't plan on offering it again. How would you deal with bottle requests if she happens to ask for it again when she is better??
If she is ok overnight tonight I'm going to reintroduce her cup of milk at brekkie tmor. Is 1 cup of milk per day enough? Approx 7oz? Or when else is best to offer another cup of milk?

Just had the BIGGEST fright of my entire life
Kirsty started coughing about 10mins ago, and gagging, so I went up to see if I could re-settle her. As I opened the door she was on her hands/knees in her cot and started crying, there was what I thought was blood all over her sheet, and lumps of blood.... fecking panicked soooo much, hubby came running upstairs, kirsty screaming, pulled the sheet off her mattress and remembered she ate blueberries today.
She sicked up due to coughing, yet again. I'm so fed up of this, there HAS to be something the docs can do to help. I'm phoning first thing tmor to get her seen. Poor thing got such a fright with me yelling
Never been so scared in all my life.

On no!!!!! stupid mummy :((
Kirsty has eaten 1 and a bit slices of toast and a few bites of banana, plus about half a cup of water - self fed - that was about half hour ago. She just came up to sit beside me and I could smell sick, thinking it must be on her jammies but it was on her hands!!!!!!! It's deffo from last night, I never thought to check her hands!!!!
Urgh!!! Can't believe I never washed her hands thoroughly before she ate!!!!!!!!!!! I've washed them now with anti-bac soap.
Given that she's touched her food/cup - is it possible to re-infect herself??

Poor baby :(
Kirsty threw up during dinner last night, quite a lot so I guess it emptied her tummy. She ate a slice of toast before bed (we weren't sure at that point that it was a bug, wondered if she choked and vomited), she took her bottle fine at bedtime, slept all night (her cough is back
), and woke up this morning with like a mouthful of sick on her jammies/matress.
I started being sick/diar around 5am so I knew then we had a bug. Stewart hasn't managed to get to work as we've had more snow, thankfully, so he is helping me. He offered her toast and a tiny bit milk at breakfast, she took the milk but no toast. She was sick a wee while later. We haven't offered any more food since but she just asked for a biscuit... What do you do? If they ask for food do you let them?
Not sure what to do about lunch
She's had a tiny bit water just now and a biscuit, hopefully she keeps it down. SHe's just snuggled with dummy and nankie and watched tv all morning

"Proper" snow!
Yup, we woke up to lots of snow this morning! I opened the curtains to let Kirsty see out... I said "look at all the pretty snow", she replied "messy everywhere!!"
I'm still waiting for her snowboots to arrive so we didn't get to go out walking in it... I'm sure we;ll get plenty of opportunities to play in snow this winter

So proud of my baby girl
She has been a wee star. Mum & Dad came down last night and so we went into town today. We got in about 11:30am (she usually eats at noon and straight to nap). We wandered a while, had lunch at 12:30, she ate brilliantly in the cafe, then we headed back to the car to come home for her to go to bed... I wasn't even down a level in the car in the carpark and she had zonked!! Managed to lift her into the buggy when we got home & she napped for 2hrs (wanted her to nap longer so we could go out to dinner tonight)
SHe normally has dinner at 5pm, bed at 7pm. We booked our table for 5:30, dinner came (finally!!) about 6:15, she sat for 2.5hrs in the highchair, doing stickers with mum inbetween eating dinner. She as SOOOO good. I'm so so proud of her!! We left the restaurant at 7:30pm and she hadn't as much as grouched, let alone cried. When we got in the car, she asked for dummy (deffo becoming an "i'm tired mummy" cue). and I told her dummy was waiting at home. I brought her into the house and she said "dummy, nankie, seepy-time", I asked did she want to go to bed, expecting a NO, but she said yes. Got jammies on, bottle, and she zonked immediately!!!
What a wee gem
I've had such a lovely day with my hubby, my angel and my folks

Better sleep!
Last night Kirsty went off to bed at her usual time, she'd had cough medicine, calpol and her inhaler, plus Vicks on her chest/feet (yes, we were desperate to help ease her cough so she could get a long sleep!), she fell asleep without a fuss. And slept so soundly! I heard her cough a couple of times around 2am, and just as I was about to get up to check on her, she stopped.... and slept soundly til daddy went in at 6:30am
I'm so pleased for her that she got decent rest (and for us!!). Everyone is much brighter this morning!! Let's hope her cough is finally clearing up.

It's been a while!
I know, I have gotten so lazy with my blogging and I really should make myself log in for 5 minutes and post! I've merged my photo blog into this one as it's too much updating 2 blogs (who am I kidding... I haven't updated either blog for months!).
So yes, to make life more simple I have merged into this one. So where are we at?
* Kirsty is 21 months, talking in full conversation,
* she is a size 4.5G shoe, size 18-24m tops, dresses, vests & jammies, and 12-18m trousers
* she was weighed last week and is 28lb 6oz
* she has all her baby teeth except for the last 4 molars (don't they come in at age 2yrs?? Oh goodie, more teething!!)
* running & jumping (she loves being a "jumping bean"),
* she can walk up the stairs (I keep meaning to teach her to come down again but I always end up scooping her up and carrying her down!)
* she LOVES Mr Tumble, (literally!!! I ask her often if she loves mummy, she says "no, I luff Mr Tumble")
* she likes to watch an episode of In The Night Garden before bed,
* she still has her bottle before bed plus her dummy/nankie for sleeping,
* she eats all on her own with cutlery,
* she eats the same foods as us, the only meal she refuses is macaroni
* she loves all fruits but blueberries and grapes are her favourites
* she LOVES raisins
* she says muffwoom for mushroom, helicocop for helicopter,
* she loves to have crayons/paper to draw pictures, often she "draws" an aeroplane :)
* she can count to 10
* she knows some shapes: circle, triangle, square, diamond
* she knows lots of colours: red, blue, green, yellow, orange, black, pink, purple, white, brown
* she adores books and jigsaws
* she ADORES visiting Gran & Grandpa (McIntyre) and playing outside with Grandpa, especially "driving his car"
* she ADORES visiting Granny & Granda (Fleming) and playing in their conservatory or going outside to weed the garden with Granda
* I'm positive she was a dog in her former life, as she adores toes/feet or "toesies" as she calles them, she loves to take our shoes off and lay across our toes, kissing & cuddling them
* she likes going out for walks and if she is on foot rather than in the buggy, she is VERY good at holding handies to keep us both safe
* she is quite scared of things which make a loud noise: I cannot hoover whilst she is in the house, nor can I use the electric whisk/blender
* she did not like the fireworks on Bonfire Night (thankfully we didn't go to any displays!!), the neighbours here had fireworks in their garden so I took her to the back door to watch, after the first firework went off, she cuddled right into me and said "I go inside now mummy"
Last but certainly not least, she loves making her "cheeky face"

Poor nankie
During the whole sick escapade, Kirsty had sicked over all 3 of the nankies I had brought to Manchester with us. She loves her nankie so much she could not be without it... I had to steal scissors from the nurse in the hospital and cut a dry piece off for her!

Still sicky
Kirsty slept all night last night, then I had to wake her up to go eat breakfast at 7:30am. It's so unlike her as she is normally up around 6am. She managed to scoff 2 slices of toast, then we went back to our room to pack up our things ready for the train home. I was stood at the doorway talking to Ems & Tracy, when we looked round, this is what we saw....

She slept like this for 2 hours until i had to wake her up to go get the train home. Bless her soul. She must have felt awful :(

Sicky baby :(
Last night Kirsty started being sick at 11:50pm (keep in mind she had bumped her head at 6pm-ish). I ended up taking her to A&E in Manchester to get checked over. She threw up about 4 or 5 times in the space of an hour. She was admitted overnight for observation. We finally got let go at lunchtime as it turned out a few of the kiddos at our meet had diarreah, so we assumed Kirsty had a bug.
I'm waiting for a pic to upload of Kirsty in the hospital crib....

Manchester bump
Kirsty & I went to Manchester to meet up with all the UK Mummies. On our first night, she fell off the bench and bumped her head on the metal base of the table :( Poor girl, you can see the red mark on her forehead. That's Josh on the right, watching over Kirsty, bless him!

All snuggled up
Kirsty seems to lie in such awkward positions at times. It's difficult to see as she has her sleeping bag on, but she has her legs pulled up under her tummy, arms all snuggled in... how can this possibly be comfortable?!

Cloth nappy!
I'm experimenting with cloth nappies to see if we "get on" with them. She decided the first deposit in her first cloth nappy would be.... a POO!!
I was a bit worried how she would react to a different type/style of nappy, but I would never know it was any different, she liked the pattern on this one but it didn't bother her that it was any different!
