Kirsty updates!

Gosh I've been so lax at updating this lately. The past 3 nights, Kirsty has only woken once through the night for a feeed - such a clever girl! Long may it continue!

On Saturday night, I started giving her a little bit of babyrice before bed. Seeing as she refuses bottles and dummies, I wasn't sure how she would be with eating from a spoon and having something other than booby milk in her mouth - I needn't have worried - she loved the process of being spoon-fed! The rice was very runny and so I don't think she actually ate much of it as it kept escaping from her mouth Last night I made it slightly thicker and as soon as I came through with the pot & spoon, she knew what it was!Again I don't think she got too much of it. Tonight I thickened it up a bit again and she loved it! She managed to eat some. Only a few spoonfulls but it's a start - my girl is growing so fast - eating real food

Her last weigh-in with the health visitor was Thursday 7th May, and she was 13lb 11oz. I thought sure she would have been over the stone, but not yet - probably is now! We'll find out on Thursday coming.

She has started really giggling now, it's so cute. Here's a link to a video from last night, who would have thought the sound "uh huh" could be so amusing

Today Kirsty found her thumb! She finally figured out how to suck her thumb, she has only done it about 2 or 3 times for a few seconds, but it's cute, she sounds like Maggie from the Simpson's *suck suck suck*

National Doughnut Week (UK)

I've just seen on TV that this is National Doughnut Week... what a great excuse to eat such yummy delights I'm going into town this afternoon... I wonder if I can find some delicious doughnuts... just to help celebrate this week, you understand

Immunisations, sleep & playtime!

Kirsty's 3 month immunisations went well on Wednesday. She was such a good girl getting them, cried for just a few minutes and then was fine, unlike last month when she cried for ages after. Poor soul!

Yesterday however, she was sooo unsettled all day, just really out of sorts. I'm not sure if it was as a result of the immunisations or something else. She was really tired (had 4 sleeps instead of the usual 3), was grumpy, clingy and had 3 poo's!

After having an extra sleep yesterday, I prepared myself for a difficult night, thinking she wouldn't sleep too well... I was wrong! She was in bed and asleep by 8pm and woke for her feed at 4am!!! Then she was up for the day at 7am. She seems a little grumpy this morning again, so we'll see how she goes throughout the day.

Speaking of which... she's just filled her nappy... back in a jiffy!!

Kirsty was playing with her linking rings when she threw her arm and let go of the ring at the same time... the ring landed on her face



She tried and tried to get it off but gave up and thought she'd just look pretty instead
