Thank goodness we lowered the cot base

Thank goodness we lowered the cot base last week.... I went to get Kirsty just now as she wouldn't settle for her nap.....

Of course, this is yet another obstacle in the way of daytime napping *sigh* lol2

We lowered the cot base today

It saddened me to do it as it just confirms how fast Kirsty is growing, but we lowered the cot base this morning.

I put Kirsty up for a nap and realised she wasn't planning napping in her cot so I went up to get her to take her out a walk... she was sitting up, feet hanging out through the bars, holding onto the top and thinking "hmmm wonder if I can pull up here"....

lil minx!!!

Kirsty & I went to the dentist today

I had a check-up, then a clean & polish with the hygienist. I wanted to take Kirsty along as I want to bring her each time I go for a check-up so she gets used to the people and the type of environment (chair, noises, lights, etc). Took the bumbo for her to sit in.

The dentist was fab with her wub He registered her as a patient and even let her sit in the chair, he put on his gloves and gave her a check-up as well!!!! lol2 He asked me first if I wanted him to do a check, I was a bit "umm, she only has 2 and a bit teeth", he said it's fine, it's good for them to get used to the routine. She wasn't keen on him looking in her mouth, but she didn't cry (as she often does with strangers).

He had me hold her and stand up, and he got a decent feel of her gums and confirmed the side tooth is deffo through on top. He said her teeth are beautiful as is she  wub Of course, I knew that already!! Then we went in to the hygienist, Kirsty wasn't so sure of her though and got a wee bit upset, I think the mask & goggles scared her a little. So I ended up having Kirsty sit on my belly whilst she cleaned my teeth. Kirsty enjoyed watching and didn't wriggle!!

I've no work to get done yey And am back in May for my next check-up. They didn't book one for Kirsty but I'll prob just sneak her along with me.

Top tooth!!

Kirsty's top right-side tooth (fang?!)  has popped through the gum yesterday!! I guess that's why she has been cranky and waking up every night of late!! Last night she slept through which was a lovely birthday pressie for me for today!! wub

Kirsty can "army crawl"

The battery is dead on the video cam or else I'd have a video to share here. Kirsty started army crawling yesterday!!! She uses one leg to shuffle forward with! It's too cute!!

This morning she enjoyed sitting at her toy box and picking toys out by herself! She had much more fun than when I lay toys around her. She's growing so fast and learning so much!!

Happy 9 month-day!

Happy 9 month-day perfect baby girl, Kirsty!!

9 months?! Really?! I cannot believe it!!! She has been outside the womb for the same amount of time as she was inside. It's incredible. I don't know where the time has gone!!! She has come such a long way in such a short space of time. Kirsty is a very independent little girl, she knows what she wants and sometimes has a short-lived meltdown if she doesn't get it!!

Currently, Kirsty cannot crawl, but she adores being on the floor on her tummy, using her arms to pivot round in circles. She can roll from back onto tummy and vice versa. She adores books, especially those with the touchy-feely pages. Her favourite toy at the moment are her stacking cups.

Kirsty is in a good routine, she normally gets up between 6/8am, has 5oz of milk followed by porridge or weetabix. She has lunch around 12noon, savoury followed by pudding, 6oz of milk mid afternoon (usually before her nap), and again savoury/pudding for dinner at 5pm. Then she has 9oz of milk before bed. Typically, she still has 2 naps per day, around 11am and 2/3pm - sometimes she is reluctant to nap though (like right now!!) eek

When she goes to bed, be it for daytime nap or nighttime sleeping, she adores her dumdum (dummy!) and her nankie (muslin blanket)!

Here's a small "then and now":

Today (9months):

Toast

Mummy made porridge with kiwi this morning but I didn't feel like eating that, so she let me try a bit of toast. I loved it!! Not too much of it reached my tummy but it was tasty to sook on!!

Mmmmmmm!

This is what happened to the toast after a while!

She can point!

Yesterday Kirsty learned how to point a finger wub And what a cute lil finger it is!! Prior to yesterday, she would hold her entire hand up to point at things. However, she only finger-points with her right hand, she still hand-points with her left hand lol2

I keep trying to capture a photo of this new pointing skill but she is too quick for me!!

Kirsty sat up by herself!

Kirsty got herself from laying down to sitting up all by herself tonight!!! She was so very proud of herself too! I cannot believe how much they learn each day. It's like every day brings a new skill or trait!
