Swing!
Today Kirsty & I took a walk to Lidl... firstly for fresh air as I'm full of the cold, secondly, we needed tatties for dinner!! On the way back home we stopped at the play park and Kirsty had a go on the swing! I love my mobile phone as it has a sequence setting on it and I managed to make this image with the pics taken!

Awwww, cuggle!
Today I am cheating slightly, these pics were taken yesterday but they are so cute and I have been slacking lately. I figured pics from yesterday was better than no post at all!!
Kirsty has loved her "nankie" for such a long time. And the past few afternoons I have found her snuggled on the floor with nankie for a short while. Typically, nankie stays in her cot but I think she is teething and she's needed a bit more comfort the last weeks or so. She lies on top of it and says "Awwww cuggle"! It's so sweet!!

Big girl shoes!
Today Kirsty had her very first trip on a bus! We went into town to meet our friend and her little girl for coffe & gossip. I decided to take Kirsty to Clarks and get her feet measured and ask for advice on when I should introduce Kirsty to wearing "proper" shoes rather than the soft leather ones she has worn. They recommended using "Cruiser" shoes just now, they are slightly softer than proper shoes to let her get used to the feeling of wearing shoes. She had her feet measured, size 3G! She wasn't too sure of having her feet measured but she allowed us to do it!The other good thing is they had a sale on so these were reduced a little in price!
They even took her photo and put it on a little card!

Kirsty took a few steps!!
I was in the middle of moving all my cleaning products from the cupboard under the sink to the high shelf in my big cupboard in the kitchen. I was down on the floor washing the shelves to remove the soap powder etc off them. Kirsty was standing up at the fridge playing with her magnetic letters when she let go of the fridge and walked to me!!! She prob took about 4 steps!
I don't think it'll be long now for her. Part of me is so proud & happy but another part is very sad. My baby is growing too fast!!

Mr. Tesco to the rescue!
Lately our car has been playing up, initially the rear brake was jamming on, meaning we couldn't reverse! So we got that fixed (or so we thought), and on Saturday I used the car to go meet a friend for coffee and realised the car was making a very obscure noise indeed (and the rear brake is still jamming). So yet again, the car is parked up and feeling rather sorry for itself.
My plan was to do a grocery shop on Sunday as we were (very) low on supplies! However, with the car misbehaving, that wasn't an option. And so I turned to Tesco Direct and got my groceries online. As much as I like the convenience, I dislike that someone else selects my fruit, veg and fresh meat. I like to pick them up and study them, choosing only the best!! But this time, Tesco Direct met my picking satisfaction! I was very pleased indeed! And therefore Mr. Tesco (the delivery man) came to our rescue!!

Hail Mr. Tesco!! Our family will not starve!

New Theme
Seeing as my lil baby girl's birthday is just around the corner (wow hasn't that come round quick?!), I thought I'd make a theme just for her. I hope you all like it :)

Happy Birthday Gran!
Tonight hubby & I went out to our first night out together since before I fell pregnant. It was hubby's mum's surprise birthday party. Everyone had such a great time. Here's the birthday girl!

And hubby & I... hubby being silly for the camera as usual!:

Fear of the vacuum cleaner
Yup, my poor lil angel is terrified of our hoover! Due to us having wooden flooring in our downstairs rooms, we don't often bring the hoover out to use as I tend to brush the floors instead. But when I do take it out to clean the rug where Kirsty plays with her toys... the poor lil lamb screams. She is soooo scared!! I had to hoover this morning (I put it off as long as possible because she is so scared!!), and she squealed in fear. I had to put on her fave TV programme and sit her up on the sofa with her fave toys to keep her comforted!!

Awwww! Sleeping like a baby!
Every night when I know Kirsty has fallen asleep, I like to go up and check on her - my last mummy duty for the day. Tonight I went up and found her laying like this... she has her lil hand hanging out through the cot bars! Notice the white blanket she is holding? That is "nankie", she adores her nankie, bless her soul! Anytime she picks it up, she puts it up against her face and says "Awwww". Too cute!

Kirsty's skill
Kirsty has been playing with all her stuffed toys for a while this morning, when I happened to look over... how clever making the gloworm stand on its head!!!

Kirsty modelling her tutu
Michelle, here we go... a model ballerina in the making!

Tutu!!
Tonight I made Kirsty a sweet lil tutu, my plan is that she will wear it on her birthday (which is coming up way too soon!!) I'm pleased with how it turned out and it was really easy! No sewing!! ONly thing is, it's really not as purple as this photo makes it out to be! The colour sequence is white, pink, purple all the way around. The purple is more a pale lilac!

Snack time!
The past week or so, Kirsty & I have started having a snack when she wakes up from her afternoon nap. Normally, we just share a satsuma. But today I gave her a little pot with some snack foods in. She loved it! Very "big girl" type snack!

Milk in a sippy cup!
This morning I tried Kirsty with milk in her sippy cup rather than her bottle. I tried a few weeks ago but she refused to drink it. So I left it a week or so and tried again today. She took it just fine! I was surprised but I'm pleased!

Steak pie
I think it's fair to say that Kirsty enjoyed her steak pie at dinner tonight!

Snow day (again!)
This morning, Kirsty helped me open the living room curtains, as we do every morning, and we saw this on the ground outside... the snow isn't new, but all those little birdie prints are!! Not sure you can see it with the image being small

Kirsty and I braved the elements today to venture to the shop along the road, we needed bread & milk so we had no choice but to go! My poor wee girl all bundled up in her buggy!!

She has also learnt that standing up at the toy basket is a great way to see all those small toys at the bottom, one day I might find her toppled in with her legs kicking, shouting "mamaaaaaaa!!"

It's a hard life...
...being so little... this is what happens after following mummy about the house and playing for 3 hours...

YEY for morning nap! Kirsty was on the verge of giving up her morning nap but since her daddy started his job this week, we are all getting up around 6:30/7am and so she has needed her nap... mummy gets a cuppa in peace though!!

My baby's baby
Whilst doing my Tesco grocery shop last week, I couldn't resist buying this "baby" for Kirsty... afterall it only cost me £3...!!! Imaginatively, we named her "Baby"!!! Kirsty loves her baby!!! She squeals with delight when we ask her to go get baby - so cute! She will make a great mama one day!

The joys of learning to self-feed
Kirsty is just loving self-feeding lately. On Christmas day I allowed her to just "get on with it" and self feed, and we've not looked back since. One thing though... gotta love the mess!! (Raspberries, grapes & toasted bagel)
Sunday, 3 January 2010
It's official...
...Kirsty is no longer a "baby". She much prefers feeding herself her meals nowadays. She's like a little animal and shovels food into her mouth with her hands, but hey... she eats, she enjoys her food and I get to eat my food whilst it is hot!!! Here she is enjoying fish pie...

I'm really not sure what this face is all about, it looks like she is growling at me!! It's cute though!!

Books, glorious books!
My girl just adores her books, she spends a huge chunk of her day listening to stories or flicking pages looking at the pictures!! (excuse the mess... Torndao Kirsty hit the toybox!!!)
New tooth!
Kirsty's bottom left lateral incisor (technical huh!!) has pierced through the gum overnight!!
